Toktogul Reservoir is the largest of its kind both in Kyrgyzstan and in all of Central Asia. Its area spans 284 square kilometers, with depths reaching up to 215 meters. Primarily, it serves as a hydroelectric resource for the country, powering the Toktogul and Kurpsai hydroelectric power stations.
The construction of the reservoir took over 10 years, and it’s hard to believe that it was created by human hands. Along the shores, visitors can relax, a popular pastime among locals and tourists alike. In the summer, swimming is permitted as the water is warm. Fishing is also allowed, with trout, carp, catfish, and perch among the fish found here.
Our company can organize jeep tours to the most interesting places in Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, and Tajikistan.
