The Oksaroy Palace, also known as Aksaray, which translates to “White Palace,” formerly served as the official residence of the first President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Islam Karimov. This palace is located in the Yakkasaray district of Tashkent, on Afrosiab Street.
Today, this historical site has been transformed into a museum and is part of the “Islam Karimov Scientific and Enlightenment Complex” – a large memorial-museum-enlightenment complex dedicated to the memory of Islam Karimov. In August 2017, a monument to Islam Karimov was erected in front of the palace.
The tourist company DWC invites you to visit this unique historical site and learn more about the history and culture of Uzbekistan.
