Ancient Citadel of Hulbuk – a historical gem, located near the village of Kurban-Said in the Khatlon region, just 26 kilometers southwest of Kulob.

The results of archaeological excavations in Hulbuk indicate that it was the capital of the Huttal province, which existed from the 9th to the 11th century. One of the unique findings is a sculpture of a girl playing the harp. In addition, other treasures were discovered, including delicate ivory items, as well as glass and bronze utensils.

The Citadel in Hulbuk is striking with its architecture and infrastructure. It had its own heating system and a water supply system that collected rainwater. The height of the building exceeded 12 meters. This place was not only an administrative and trade center but also a true cultural oasis.
