The Shekelmes Gorge is located in the Kurshim District of the East Kazakhstan Region, north of Lake Zaysan. The eponymous mountain rises in the middle part of the bay with two capes. This place impresses with its landscapes and grandeur.

The vegetation here is very rare, and lifelessness predominates. The rare vegetation cannot withstand the heat, so there is very little of it here. As a result of wind and natural processes, interesting landscapes have formed – accumulations, pyramids, and other forms with different soil colors.
