The petroglyphs of Cholpon-Ata are a place where ancient nomads worshipped celestial bodies and performed religious rituals. Located near the city of Cholpon-Ata on the northern shore of Issyk-Kul, here, among other things, travelers can explore an exhibition of 5000 stones. Their height varies from 30 cm to 3 meters. Petroglyphs are engraved on each of them.

Some of the images are up to 4 thousand years old. The drawings depict life and everyday activities dynamically, showing daily routines, hunting moments, battles, celebrations, and sacrifices. The petroglyphs are also known as the Stone Garden.
