Jeep tours from Bishkek offer a unique opportunity for travelers to explore historical sites in Uzbekistan, including the Tomb of Hodja Daniyar. This amazing place is located near the Siab River, amidst the hills of Afrasiab, and serves as a place of rest and prayer for believers. The mausoleum is called by different names: for Muslims – Hodja Daniyar, for Christians – the biblical prophet Daniel, and for Jews – one of the great prophets.
The exact origin of this shrine is shrouded in legends and mysteries. One of the common legends states that Amir Timur wanted to ensure the protection and prosperity of Samarkand, and therefore built the mausoleum of Hodja Daniyar to seek the protection of the spirit of the prophet Daniel. During one of his campaigns in Asia Minor, Timur faced insurmountable difficulties during the siege of the city of Suza.
According to legend, returning with the relics of the prophet, the horse carrying them suddenly stopped, refusing to move further. And when the horse struck the ground with its hoof, a spring of healing water burst forth. It was decided to bury the relics of the prophet at this place, and the Tomb of Hodja Daniyar appeared near the Siab River.
