The Chashma-Ayub Mausoleum is a historically significant structure located in the heart of Bukhara, encompassing a mausoleum and a sacred spring, which has now been transformed into the Museum of Water.

The Chashma-Ayub Mausoleum is associated with the legend of the Prophet Job. In ancient times, in Bukhara, where dry winds prevailed, the inhabitants prayed to Allah for mercy. Their prayers were heard when the Prophet Job traveled through the lands of Bukhara. He struck the ground with his staff, and from it began to flow a healing spring, which saved the townspeople from terrible drought. In gratitude for this gift, the residents named the spring “Chashma Ayub” – the Spring of Saint Job.
