In the heart of the preserved part of Bukhara lies the Magoki-Attori Mosque, one of the first mosques in the city, whose roots date back to the pre-Islamic era. At the site where the Magoki-Attori Mosque now stands, there once stood an ancient fire temple at the beginning of our era, surrounded by the bustling Moon Market. Spices and medicinal remedies were traded at this market.

With the spread of Islam in the region, a mosque was erected on the site of the destroyed pagan temple. During archaeological excavations in the 20th century, it was established that the first mosque was built here in the 9th century.

By the end of the 10th century, the mosque was destroyed by fire, and in the 12th century, a new building was erected on its site, which, in turn, was destroyed in the 15th century. The tourist company DWC invites you to visit this historical site and immerse yourself in the rich cultural and religious history of Bukhara.
