The Tears of Bars waterfall is the most popular waterfall in the Barskoon Gorge. It is located on the southern shore of Issyk-Kul, 90 km from the city of Karakol. The gorge is famous for its relic forests and waterfalls, one of which is the Tears of Bars.

The water from it is drinkable as it comes directly from the glacier. It is a rather noisy place – the water falls from a height of 100 meters, and therefore nothing else can be heard besides it. The water disperses into millions of splashes – the waterfall looks stunning at any time of the year.

The Tears of Bars is a fairly high waterfall, and it takes about two hours to reach it on foot. From here, you can truly enjoy a fantastic view of the surrounding mountains, and this place is definitely worth a visit.
