Lenin Peak is located in the Osh region, on the border with Tajikistan, at an altitude of 7134 meters. In the neighboring republic, it is known as Ibn Sina. It is the third highest peak in the CIS and the second in Kyrgyzstan. Additionally, it is the highest in the Zaalaysky Range and the fifth highest in the Pamir Mountains. The first person to discover the peak was Alexei Fedchenko in 1871.
Initially, it was named Peak Kaufmann, in honor of the first Governor-General of Tajikistan. The first ascent took place only in 1928. Subsequent ascents were recorded in 1934, 1937, and 1950, despite the political situation and the post-war era. Today, there are 16 climbing routes available. As the ascent is considered relatively easy, it is popular among a large number of climbers.
Before embarking on the ascent, tourists can relax at the base camp and enjoy the nature around. Anyone, regardless of their level of preparation, can reach here and at least admire the peak, which is always shrouded in clouds.
DWC company organizes jeep tours not only throughout Kyrgyzstan but also in Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, and Tajikistan.
