Kyzyl-Kiya is a city in the Batken region, located 150 km from the city of Batken, with a population of about 45 thousand people. During the Soviet era, Kyzyl-Kiya was a major industrial regional center. To this day, its infrastructure and communications have been successfully preserved.

The city exhibits distinct urban features. Several roads of republican significance pass through Kyzyl-Kiya, as well as a railway to Uzbekistan and Tajikistan, and a small airport.
