Korgalzhyn Nature Reserve is located in the territories of the Akmola and Karaganda regions of Kazakhstan. It is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and holds the status of the first biosphere reserve in Kazakhstan.

Established in 1968, the reserve aims to preserve the habitats of pink flamingos and around 400 other species of birds and animals, many of which are listed in the Red Book. These include the little and great egret, marsh harrier, saker falcon, pelican, and others. The reserve is also known as the “bird bazaar” because the number of migratory bird species here exceeds the number of resident birds.

Korgalzhyn is home to the largest population of pink flamingos in Kazakhstan, although their numbers have decreased from 45,000 individuals to 15,000. They can be observed from May to October.

Within the reserve, there is the “Bird Paradise” center, where visitors can learn a lot about the area and its inhabitants.

DWC company organizes jeep tours not only throughout Kyrgyzstan but also in Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, and Tajikistan.
