The canyons of Konorchek are an amazing place located in the eastern part of the Kyrgyz Range. It is a miniature Grand Canyon formed due to soil erosion. Intricate clay sculptures can be endlessly admired.

However, this place is attractive not only for its clay formations – the remnants of the Segizhan-Shokny volcano are also located here. This is a real phenomenon for these places – the territory of Central Asia is not typical for volcanic activity. Nevertheless, here one can also find particles of ancient seashells that remained from the sea that once existed here.

In winter, there is no snow here, while in summer, the temperature rises to around 40 degrees Celsius. Therefore, it is most comfortable to visit these places in spring or autumn. The path to the canyon follows the bed of a former river, and in some places, the cliffs converge, leaving a passage only one and a half meters wide.

This route is considered easy and accessible for tourists with various levels of physical fitness. The travel company DWC will be happy to take you to the Konorchek Canyons.
