Mount Khan Tengri is located almost on the border of three countries – Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, and China. The peak reaches an elevation of 7010 meters and is among the top five highest peaks in Central Asia. Climbers who conquer Khan Tengri are awarded the title of “Snow Leopard.”

Interestingly, in Kazakhstan, the mountain is known by another name – Kantau (Bloody Mountain). This is due to the marble rock, which takes on a crimson hue in the rays of the sunset. At the foot of the mountain, there is the Inylchek Glacier and Lake Merzbacher, classified as disappearing. Currently, the DWC  is aware of 9 possible routes for ascending the peak. At the summit, there is a capsule with messages from climbers who have conquered the peak. All messages are written with a pencil, as it is impossible to use a pen here. Despite the high risk of death, this does not deter climbers.
