The base camp Karkara or Zhuravlev is located at an altitude of 2200 meters above sea level, on the left bank of the river of the same name. It is 115 km away from the city of Karakol. This is an acclimatization camp for mountaineers heading to peaks such as Pobeda, Khan Tengri, and others.
Here, you can also take a helicopter flight to the Southern Inylchek. The campsite features a dining hall, bar, sauna, and shower facilities. There’s also a helicopter pad from which flights are scheduled. Yurts or tents are available for rent – a real find for those who want to experience the features of nomadic life.
