The Jeti-Oguz Gorge, also known as the “Seven Bulls Rocks,” is located on the northern slopes of the Terskey Alatau Range, just 30 kilometers west of the town of Karakol in Kyrgyzstan. This magnificent place is one of Kyrgyzstan’s gems, a mountain valley through which the Jeti-Oguz River flows, eventually feeding into Lake Issyk-Kul.
Jeti-Oguz is famous for its unique range of red rocks covered with dense forests. Stretching for 37 kilometers, the landscape of this valley was formed by the Jeti-Oguz River. The scenery of the gorge is breathtaking: vast dark green forests spread out over red sandstone, creating an amazing color contrast.
Immediately upon entering the gorge, tourists encounter the “Broken Heart” rock. According to legend, this rock represents the broken heart of a young girl who lost her life in a struggle between two young men in love with her, both of whom perished in the conflict.
At the beginning of the Jeti-Oguz Canyon lies a beautiful spot called Kok-Jayyk, which is popular among tourists.
At an altitude of 2200 meters above sea level, right in the Jeti-Oguz Gorge, is the famous Jeti-Oguz resort. This resort is known for its healing radon and hydrogen sulfide springs, which attract people seeking relief from rheumatic, gastric, nervous, and skin diseases.
