Lake Inder is the largest lake in the Atyrau region. It is a stagnant and saline lake, locally known as Tuzdykol. It is located 180 km from the city of Atyrau and covers an area of about 110 square kilometers.
The lake is fed by underground waters. In summer, you can take mud baths and wash with healing water. The lake is not very deep, so swimming can be quite challenging. However, you can take beautiful photos against the backdrop of the snowy surface of the lake with salt crystals.
The easiest way to get there from the city of Atyrau is by off-road vehicle. You can visit the lake as part of a weekend tour or stay overnight in a hotel. We also recommend visiting the local history museum.
Our company can organize jeep tours to the most interesting places in Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, and Tajikistan.
