The Khavzi Sangin Mosque, an architectural marvel erected in 1904, stands as one of the region’s significant landmarks. Its name originates from “khauz,” a reservoir surrounded by stone fortifications. Legend has it that this reservoir was excavated by order of Sultan Parvonachi. Slaves toiled to create it, while camels carried stones for the fortifications. Upon completion, the Sultan gifted the camels to the workers and set them free.
Adjacent to the mosque is a small mausoleum with a domed roof. According to some sources, in 1895, this mausoleum was known as Shofozil ibn Abbas, dating back to 1795. Other sources claim it is the resting place of Fuzayl ibn Abbas. DWC Tour Company invites you to visit this historical site and delve into its rich and captivating history.
