The Mausoleum of Dombauyl, located in the ancient necropolis of Dombauyl in the Ulytau District of the Karaganda Region of Kazakhstan, is one of the greatest structures of the pre-Islamic era, built in the 8th-9th centuries. The mausoleum is situated 689 meters from the left bank of the Kara-Kengir River and only 39.4 kilometers northeast of the city of Satpayev.
The author and builder of the Dombauyl Mausoleum remain unknown. This powerful structure is built of sandstone blocks using clay mortar. It has a trapezoidal shape and is oriented to the east. The total height of the conical structure is 6 meters, and the walls of the mausoleum are 2.5 meters thick. The dimensions of the external structure are 8.5 by 7.5 meters.
The entrance to the mausoleum is raised 2 meters above ground level and is reached via five tall steps, each measuring 37 centimeters.
