Karakaly is a unique area situated in the expanses of Sary-Arka. It’s a treasure of Central Kazakhstan, known for its stunning landscapes and as the home and inspiration for renowned Kazakhstani figures.
Located 200 km from Karaganda, this town, founded in 1824, holds memories of bygone eras. It preserves houses from the merchant period, an old mosque, houses made of carved wood, and more. Of particular aesthetic interest is the Ryazantsev Merchant House.
Legends speak of a buried treasure here, but it remains undiscovered. The town also hosts a library.
Karakaly is also home to a natural park of the same name, which is part of protected areas due to its unique landscape. There is also a lake with incredible acoustics and an indescribable atmosphere.
