Too-Ashuu Pass – Camel Pass. Connects the Chui and Suusamyr valleys with a highway. Located in the Karabalta Gorge, near the village of Sosnovka.
It is characterized by steep hairpin turns and beautiful views. The maximum height is 3400 meters. The northern and southern slopes are connected by a 2.2 km long tunnel.
Too-Ashuu is also a key section of the Bishkek-Osh highway, which connects the north and south of the country. In ancient times, it was considered an important part of the Great Silk Road. Caravans of camels with goods used to travel through it.
Near the pass, there is a sanatorium for the treatment of asthma – the air here is truly healing.
