Arabel Plateau is a valley located at an altitude of 3800 meters above sea level, south of Lake Issyk-Kul, near the Barskoon Gorge. Such high-mountain valleys or syrts are a fascinating and quite rare phenomenon, especially at such elevations. The temperature here does not rise above 7 degrees Celsius throughout the year, and vegetation is scarce, consisting mainly of grass, lichens, and moss.

The valley is rich in water – marshes, rivers, and lakes, due to glacial melting and precipitation. There are more than 50 lakes in the valley alone. One could say it is a high-altitude tundra. The unique features of the valley are attributed to the glacier that has existed for many centuries. Thanks to the glacier, the valley has a relatively flat relief and numerous lake-filled depressions. The Arabel Plateau is intersected by a considerable number of tourist routes. Access can be gained through the Jukuu and Barskoon Gorges, as well as through the Arabel Pass.

The company DWC organizes jeep tours not only throughout Kyrgyzstan but also in Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, and Tajikistan.
