A tourist company from Bishkek offers to visit the main attraction and the pearl of Shakhrisabz – the Ak-Saray Palace.

The construction of the palace began in 1380 and was completed in 1386, but the finishing works continued until 1404. The palace was erected in memory of the mother of Amir Timur Takhinakhutun, and only a part of this magnificent monument has survived to our days.

Masters from different countries, such as Khorezm and Iran, participated in the construction. The palace today is in a semi-ruined state, but its grandeur continues to impress the city’s guests.

Originally, the building was 73 meters high, and there was a small pool on its roof, from which water flowed through lead pipes, forming a waterfall.

Archaeological excavations were carried out in the Ak-Saray Palace in 1973-75, and conservation works were undertaken in 1994-96. In 2002, the palace was partially reconstructed under the auspices of UNESCO in connection with the celebration of the 2700th anniversary of the city of Shakhrisabz.
Our company can organize jeep tours to the most interesting places in Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, and Tajikistan.
