The Bishkek tourist company offers unique jeep tours, during which you can visit the magnificent museum dedicated to Amir Timur. It was opened in 1996 to celebrate the 660th anniversary of this outstanding military leader, known as Tamerlane.

The museum is housed in a three-story round building in classic Eastern style with a dome. The interior is beautifully adorned with marble, unique paintings, and gilt. Of particular note is the impressive crystal chandelier, 8.5 meters high, consisting of 106,000 pendants.

The museum’s exhibits tell visitors about the history of Uzbekistan during the rule of the Timurid dynasty. The museum collection includes over 3,000 artifacts representing jewelry, clothing, musical instruments, and tools.
