The waterfall “Devich’i Slezы” is located in the Jeti Oguz Gorge, approximately 30 kilometers from Lake Issyk-Kul. You can reach it from Karakol.

The second name, although quite rare, is “Devich’i Kosy” (Maiden Braids). Its height is just under 40 meters, and the waterfall itself is situated at an altitude of about 2500 meters above sea level.

This is the most popular waterfall among tourists. There are paths leading to it, providing a magnificent view of the gorge.

Why is the waterfall named like this? It is believed to be the tears of an unhappy girl whose fiancé died, and she did not get married.
There is an opinion that unmarried girls, to find family happiness, should undergo ablution in the waters of the waterfall.

We invite you to visit the “Devich’i Slezы” waterfall with the tourist company DWC.
